a t t c t Background. Coronary artery endarterectomy with cornary artery bypass grafting for diffuse coronary artery isease has been associated with increased morbidity nd mortality. We evaluated our institutional experience o redefine the role of coronary endarterectomy for difuse coronary artery disease. Methods. From 1985 to 2002 isolated coronary artery ndarterectomy with coronary artery bypass grafting was erformed in 1,478 consecutive patients. The short-term utcomes were compared with concurrent series of conentional coronary artery bypass graft surgery, and risk actors for adverse outcomes after coronary endarterecomy were identified. Results. Patients in the coronary endarterectomy group ere of higher risk with increased incidence of comoridities and three-vessel coronary disease. The operative ortality (3.2% versus control 2.2%; p 0.03) and the ncidence of major postoperative morbidity (not signifiant) were comparable between the groups. Prolonged

Early Clinical Outcomes and Mortality of Coronary Endarterectomy in the Left Anterior Descending Artery: A Single-Center Experience
Introduction: Although coronary endarterectomy is not an ideal procedure, it is the only available option for cardiac surgeons in some patients with diffuse coronary artery disease. Based on the majority of conducted studies, the results of coronary endarterectomy (including survival, graft patency, and recurrence of the symptoms of myocardial ischemia) are less prevalent than standard coronary...
متن کاملShort-term clinical outcomes and mortality of coronary endarterectomy in the right coronary artery: A single-center experience
Introduction: Coronary endarterectomy is not a perfect procedure. However, it is sometimes the only available alternative for cardiac surgeons in patients suffering from diffuse coronary artery disease. According to a large volume of studies, coronary endarterectomy results (such as survival, recurrence of the symptoms of myocardial ischemia, and graft patency) are not as satisfactory as standa...

BACKGROUND In this study, we aimed to review the consequences of coronary endarterectomy with coronary artery bypass grafting, and assess outcomes of this combined surgical technique for patients with diffuse coronary artery disease in a single surgeon's practice. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed outcome of 1198 endarterectomized coronary artery in 1000 patients with diffuse coronary arter...
متن کاملReview on Coronary Endarterectomy - past , Present , and Future !
Coronary endarterectomy is first presented by Baily et al. as a surgical revascularization procedure against diffuse coronary artery disease on 29th October 1956. Coronary endarterectomy provides a way of complete surgical revascularization of the myocardium in diffuse and calcified coronary arteries with adequate blood flow to distal part of vessels, thus improving myocardial function. However...
متن کاملEffect of coronary artery bypass on QT dispersion
Introduction: QT dispersion (QT Max – QT min) reflects inhomogeneous ventricular depolarization that may provide a substrate for serious arrythmias and is associated with adverse clinical outcomes in patients with coronary artery disease. Some studies have shown reduction in QT dispersion after successful angioplasty due to coronary reperfusion, but effect of coronary artery bypass grafting o...
